01Who we are
This website is operated by Storyworlding, LLC ("Storyworlding," "we," "us"), a consultancy and venture firm based in New York. This policy explains what information we collect through this website, our newsletter, and Build Lab enrollment, and how we use it.
When we work with a client's customer data, for example in a Mirror engagement, we act as a service provider on that client's behalf under a separate written agreement. That work follows the client's instructions and the agreement, and this policy does not cover it.
02What we collect
Information you give us. When you subscribe to Forefield, book a call, reserve a Build Lab seat, join a waitlist, or contact us, we collect what you enter: typically your first and last name, email address, phone number, company, and anything you write in a message. If you reserve a seat, our payment processor collects your payment details. If you enroll a student in Build Lab Teens, we also collect the student's name, age, school, and optional email, an emergency contact, how the student gets home, and your photo permission choice.
Newsletter preferences. If you choose which Forefield topics you want, we keep those choices.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider receives standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. We store your light or dark display choice in your own browser. See our Cookie Notice for details.
03Mirror customer story preview requests
If you request a customer story preview, we save your request, its confirmation version and time, and a snapshot of your contact details and preparation answers. We notify our team so we can discuss the source, period, fields, retention, and scope with you. The request does not authorize additional provider access, import individual customer history, or authorize customer messages.
You can withdraw the request on your preparation page. Withdrawing a preview request does not disconnect existing aggregate assessment connections; use the separate disconnect controls to do that. Request records remain with the inquiry under the same retention policy.
04Mirror assessment connections
If you choose to connect Shopify, Google Analytics 4, or Klaviyo after submitting a Mirror inquiry, we request read-only access for the assessment. We read account details and aggregate statistics, such as order counts, site activity, and email-event totals. This assessment version does not import individual customer records or send marketing messages.
We store connection credentials encrypted, your selected properties, and assessment summaries. Access through Mirror stops after 30 days unless you disconnect sooner. Disconnecting requests revocation from the provider and clears the saved credentials and summaries after confirmation. Provider-wide revocation can affect other connections to the same account. Klaviyo access tokens already issued can remain valid until their expiry.
You can continue without connecting and can remove the app directly in the provider settings. A subsequent customer-data engagement or messaging service requires a separate agreement and permission.
05How we use it
We use your information to send the newsletters you asked for, respond to inquiries, schedule calls, deliver Build Lab and client services, process payments, keep records we are required to keep, improve the website, and protect the security of our systems.
We only send text messages to your phone number with your separate, express consent. You can reply STOP to any text to opt out.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
06Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the business, such as email delivery, payment processing, website hosting, scheduling, and cloud storage providers. They may use it only to provide services to us.
We may also disclose information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply.
07How long we keep it
We keep newsletter information until you unsubscribe. We keep inquiry and client records for as long as the relationship lasts and for a reasonable period after, and payment and tax records for as long as the law requires. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
08Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it, and change your topic choices at any time.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, and to opt out of certain uses. To make a request, write to [email protected] or use our contact form. We will confirm your identity, respond within the time the law allows, and never treat you differently for exercising your rights. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
09Children and teens
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Build Lab Teens is for students 13 and up. A parent or guardian completes enrollment and payment and provides the student's information, which we use only to run the program and stay in touch with the family. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11International visitors
We are based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored there. If you contact us from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be handled under United States law.
12Changes and contact
We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top. Questions go to [email protected], our contact form, or by mail to Storyworlding, LLC, 155 Prince Street, New York, NY 10012. Our registered office is 90 State Street, Suite 700, Office 40, Albany, NY 12207.
